The lounge was deserted at first, but after a few moments, a group swept into the room, all laughing and patting each other on the back. Olivia and Jen, the first two who had entered the room, dropped simultaneously into two large armchairs, sighing. Next; Hugh, Robert, Peter and Jesse made their way towards the counter, Omar and Kal trailing behind them slightly. Lastly, Lisa entered the room, looking the most exhausted of them all, and joined Jen and Olivia in the lounge area.
After a few moments, Robert and Hugh joined the three women, both carrying large platters, one of different chips and crackers and the other of dips and sauces and cheese. Hugh also held a glass of wine and raised it, "To the end of season five!" Laughter filled the room as the others who held glasses raised them.
"To House's sanity!" Peter laughed, taking a sip of his own wine. Hugh elbowed him in the side, his eyes narrowed.
"To Cameron and Chase's marriage!" Jen raised a bottle of water that Omar had tossed her. She smiled as Jesse kissed her cheek laughingly, her eyes alight.
"To Foreman and Thirteen!" Omar laughed, seeing Olivia's face turn a pale pink at his comment.
"To Wilson's eventual hope of ever getting a girl," Robert laughed, looking towards Lisa, who had remained quiet while they were cheering their characters.
"To Thirteen's health!" Olivia interjected, hoping to distract them from Lisa's silence.
"To House and Cuddy!" Hugh cried, leaning over and kissing Lisa's cheek. Lisa rolled her eyes, a faint blush creeping onto her cheeks as Hugh's lips lingered besides her ear.
"To us!" Lisa smiled, raising the glass of wine Hugh had handed her to her lips and draining it. Laughingly, she set the bottle on the table and sighed, "Game anyone?"
"My pick!" Olivia jumped up, "Spin the bottle, no one leaves!" She grabbed an empty beer bottle from the bin and plopped down besides Omar, setting the bottle on the floor in between them.
"I go first," Jen reached for the bottle, spinning it lightly. The team watched as the bottle spun in one complete circle then stopped, pointing towards Omar Epps. Omar's eyebrows raised, a smirk forming on his face as Jen's lips pressed against his in a quick kiss. As she pulled back, Omar reached behind her and spun the bottle quickly.
"Aww," Hugh whined, "no fair. You got Olivia - no character pairings."
Olivia narrowed her eyes, trying to hide her laughter. "Oh really, I'm sure you wouldn't say the same if you got Lisa," she smirked, ignoring the blush on Lisa's face, "Anyone object to that?” The majority, including Lisa, nodded. Olivia turned, “Out voted Hugh, burned by your own co-stars.”
Hugh shrugged, and leaned back into the couch as Omar's lips touched Olivia's cheeks. Pulling back, Omar looked at the bottle, “You're turn Olivia,” he spun it for her, ignoring Robert's look of pure shock as it stopped on him.
“Oh come on Robbie,” Olivia smiled, “Scared of a little kiss?” She gave his lips a quick peck then leaned back, settling back besides Jen on the couch.
“No,” Robert shot back, flicking the bottle, “Do you really think I - Lisa...?” He looked up, seeing the bottle point to her “No way in hell am I kissing Lisa.”
“Do you want to tell us something Robbie-kins?” Hugh laughed, an arm dropping unconsciously around Lisa's waist. “Are you and Kal hiding behind the sets after hours?”
“No!” Kal jumped up, raising the empty beer bottle in his hand over Hugh's head, “Robert and I are not kissing after hours. We aren't even kissing on set!” He lowered the bottle and sank onto the floor besides Jen, “Just you wait, I'm going to tell your wife what you and 'Robbie-kins' get up to on set.”
“Jo doesn't give a damn what I do in LA,” Hugh growled, his mood changing completely, “that's why she's in England. She doesn't care if I cheat or knock up some random twenty-year old I meet the night before.” His eyes were narrowed and Kal backed off, nodding slowly. No one had ever seen Hugh react like this when talking about his wife before, and they didn't really want to endure it again. Robert cleared his throat nervously, his eyes darting between Hugh and Lisa, who were snuggled together on the couch besides Jesse.
“Mind if I go?” He asked, dropping a chaste kiss to Lisa's lips then pulling away; feeling Hugh's eyes watching his every move.
Leaning forwards now, Lisa spun the bottle quickly and her eyes narrowed, as she looked at the person it pointed to. “Were you serious about that Hugh?” she asked quietly, so even Jesse, who was sitting on Hugh's other side, had to strain to hear her. After Hugh shook his head, Lisa leaned forwards, her lips meeting his in a passionate kiss.
Eyes widened at Hugh's arm tightened around Lisa's waist and he half pulled her into his lap, his other hand letting his wine glass fall to the floor as it caught Lisa's hand between their bodies. Robert's eyes squeezed shut a few seconds later as Lisa pulled herself into Hugh's lap, her arms snaking around his neck. By now, everyone in the room realized exactly why Hugh had snapped a few minutes earlier as Lisa's eyes fluttered closed and his arms tightened around her waist. Jen and Olivia exchanged happy smiles and Jesse slid from the couch, attempting to get as far away as possible from them.
“God damn it you two!” Robert cried, “This is not 'Under My Skin', you can stop kissing now! You're not on camera!” Hugh pulled back, his face flushed, but underneath, his face was truly red from the embarrassment he suddenly felt.
For a while, the room was silent, Hugh and Lisa sat on the couch, wrapped in each other's arms, and everyone else sat around them, slightly shocked at what they had just seen.
Lisa was the first one to break the silence, “So … we should probably explain that?” she asked nervously. Hugh's arms tightened around her waist and she snugged in his arms.
“What I said about Jo was true.” Hugh explained, “She knows Lisa and I are seeing each other. Jo and I are actually planning to finalize our divorce in a few weeks. She supposedly doesn't want to deal with the rumors and distance.” He kissed Lisa's cheek, keeping her besides him.”
“Wow,” Robert whispered, rivaling his 'Wilson persona', “Really? A divorce? And you and Lisa are together? Oh my god!” He squealed, reminding them of what he had said earlier.
“Yes,” Lisa gave a small smile, “Hugh and I are together,” she reached under the neckline of her dress, “engaged actually.” She paused again, looking nervously at Hugh, “And -” he voice dropped, so only Hugh could hear her, “- I'm pregnant.” Hugh's face changed immediately.
“You're what?!” He cried, “You're kidding me Lise,” he turned to face everyone, “okay, someone help me. Lisa just told me that she's pregnant.”
“You'd better hope you're the father,” Jen laughed, “Congrats you two, marriage and a baby.” Olivia nodded, her face slightly thoughtful.
“How's that gonna work for Cuddy though?” Olivia scrunched up her face like she was thinking deeply, “She and House ...”
“Yeah, yeah, yeah,” Lisa cut her off, “We're going to talk to David tomorrow, see if we can tweak a few things that weren't important in “Both Sides Now.” It's the only way we can explain it,” she sighed, “Like, the fact that Cameron and Chase's wedding doesn't take place the same day as the whole thing before … and so there's a few nights before House goes to Mayfield and all. So, in those few nights, House and Cuddy end up sleeping together. We already have the baby's stage name, if it's a girl, that is. Elizabeth Renee Cuddy.” She smiled again, kissing Hugh's cheek.
“I guess David knew something we didn't.” Olivia reached for a folder that she had spotted a few seconds earlier. “Cuddy has two babies in the start of season six – and one isn't adopted. And she's engaged -” she paused for a dramatic effect, “- to House. Of all people,” she shook her head in mock shame. "Cuddy, Cuddy, Cuddy - what is the world coming to? You marry Greg House..." Olivia trailed off seeing Lisa frown slightly.
“What?!” Robert, Jesse, Lisa and Hugh all made a wild grab for the plot summary, but in the end, Jen ended up with it in her lap after Hugh had thrown it away from Jesse who was trying to reach it.
“This really is no surprise is it?” Hugh whispered into Lisa's ear, “David must've known something we didn't.” With that, Lisa turned in his arms and kissed him again, smiling against his lips.
“I guess so,” she whispered.
